After 18 Successful Years in Jackson Hole, the premier showcase of excellence in handcrafted Western furnishings, décor and fashion considers a Mountain West move
Jackson Hole, WY – After 18 years of hosting the Western Design Conference Exhibit + Sale (WDC) at the Snow King Sports & Events Center in Jackson, Wyoming, event organizers have announced their search for a new venue within the Mountain West. The annual showcase of Western-inspired artistry has long drawn artists, collectors, and enthusiasts from across the country, with the 2024 September event featuring over 99 artists and designers from 28 U.S. states and providing over $17,000 in prestigious awards honoring excellence in design.
With the Snow King Sports & Events Center no longer available for future events, the search for a new venue is focused on finding a location within the Mountain West that not only matches the grandeur and artistic spirit of the event but also has the ability to attract a large community of Western art enthusiasts. Organizers are committed to identifying a venue that will enhance the event’s prestige and accessibility, while ensuring that artists continue to thrive in an inspiring, well-suited environment.
For 32 years, the Western Design Conference has been synonymous with high-caliber craftsmanship, offering attendees a rare opportunity to experience and acquire unique, handcrafted pieces that celebrate both contemporary and traditional Western aesthetics. The 2024 event brought dynamic energy to Jackson Hole, including an engaging series of lectures with dynamic discussions on a range of design trends and topics from 16 industry leaders, alongside the sold-out Preview Party + Fashion show.
“Jackson Hole has been a wonderful home and in a perfect world the WDC would never leave, but as we look to the future, it’s essential that we find a venue that mirrors the same cultural richness and vibrancy that our artists bring to the Exhibit + Sale,” says Allison Merritt, Executive Director of the Western Design Conference. “We are actively searching for a new location that can accommodate the growing scale of the event, while continuing to attract an audience deeply connected to the Western arts tradition.”
The Western Design Conference will continue to provide updates as the search for a new venue progresses. The team remains dedicated to delivering an elevated experience that celebrates the finest in Western-inspired design and craftsmanship.
