Artist Description

Gallenberg Studio is located in the beautiful north woods of Wisconsin. Tom’s passion for woodworking really shines through in his desire to create unique one of a kind pieces for his clients across the country. His display at fine furniture shows will showcase many of his original furniture designs and custom leaded glass lighting along with very unique architectural accent pieces.

He has a very broad portfolio of commissions ranging from custom furniture, cabinetry, doors, lighting and even outdoor architecture. Styles range from the very organic natural edge piece to a specialty in the Arts & Crafts style of Greene & Greene. His designs in the style of Greene & Greene have captured the “Best In Show” back to back in 2009 & 2010, and again in 2013 and 2015 at the Milwaukee Fine Furniture Show for traditional body of work.

While many of his pieces are crafted out of Mahogany or Cherry he works in a full compliment of both domestic and exotic woods. “Certain wood species really capture the essence of a style” for example mahogany is his favorite wood for Greene & Greene style work. All wood is hand selected and finished in a manner to allow the natural beauty of the wood to shine through. He is also very sensitive to the environmental concerns of some clients by having sustainable produced genuine mahogany available.

Custom entrance doors, incorporating an original or reproduction stained glass panel, have been an increasing request of clients. Many vintage arts & crafts homes have leaded glass panels recovered from a window or door that can be incorporated into a new front door. Matching porch lights are a popular request also. In creating a new door, details from the existing architecture may be incorporated into the design to make a door that looks and feels like it belongs to the home.

From a single piece of furniture to a whole house renovation Toms work can be found across the country. He not only works closely with clients, but also has strong working relationships with interior designers, architects, and builders.
